"Professional cuddler, lap warmer, and shadow. Yup, that's perfect for my job description! I am a very petite girl who loves human attention and lots of snuggles. Believe it or not, I don't even mind baths if I get to curl beneath a warm blanket afterwards! Did I mention cuddling anywhere and anytime is my favorite thing in the world? Food is good too so much so that I found where it was kept immediately when I first got here! Now if I could just open that bucket. I get along with kids, cats and other dogs and have one friend who cuddles with me all the time here. I love car rides and watching the world go by. I am crate-trained, do well on a leash or in a fenced yard, potty outside like a good Min Pin should, and even though I am very alert, I am not a barker. I am working on learning basic commands and get them down within minutes of being taught using treats and praise. My foster mom says I am perfect and the best foster she's ever had. Opie: 3 yr old chocolate/tan male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 11", 10 lb. Rescued from shelter.
"I just got out of jail and arrived at my new foster home. My foster mommy named me Opie. She thinks I am a cute little boy. I have some playmates in my home. I think they are OK. The chihuahua does tell me to leave her alone and I back off. My mommy says I am good in a crate. I need a little work on the housebreaking. I ride well in a car. She will test me on a leash. I am still learning about my new home and my foster mommy is learning about me. So watch for updates.

First update: My mommy thinks I might have been an outside dog most of my life. I am always wanting to go outside. So I must have a home with a fenced yard.
Second Update: My Mommy says I am housebroken. I'm not crazy about a crate, but I know sometimes it's necessary and I calm down. I have been in a house with girls and I like them. I just got a new foster brother, Andy. He's OK too. We both like our Mommy's lap. Sometimes she has to hold both of us. She needs a bigger lap.

"Hi, I'm Roxie! I am a very playful and independent Min Pin. I love my toys and know them all by name. Tell me to get one, and I will! I also like hiding them under rugs or burying them in the yard only to dig them up later. With that said, I must have a fenced yard to burn off my energy. I am also okay on a leash when a harness is used and enjoy walks. I would do best around older children as I like bouncing around and could knock a small child over due to my larger size. I don't know how I feel about other dogs, but if you have them, we can always meet to see how I act. I'm game for anything! I am housebroken and prefer cuddling with my humans or in my own doggie bed at night. Bailey: 6 yr old black & tan female, spayed, docked tail and uncropped ears. 12", 11 lb. Fully vetted. Owner give-up.
Bailey is a special Min Pin who needs a special person or two to call her own. She recently came into foster care after living with someone for six years. Understandably, she was very nervous, and it took nearly three weeks for her to fully come out of her shell enough to trust her foster mom. Bailey can be a bit wary of strangers at first, and it takes ten minutes for her to warm up to people she has never seen before. If people let her come to them, she does much better than when they attempt to pick her up. She enjoys walks, playing with toys alone or with a person, watching the world go by through the window, and like most Min Pins eating! Treats tend to help her trust, and they also help build a bond with a new person. Bailey learns quickly so had been hand fed meals to build trust as well as to give her a refresher on obedience commands and work on eliminating some touch sensitivities. As she is headstrong and wants to be the pack leader, Bailey needs an assertive person who will continue her training and provide a structured environment to show her that people are to be listened to at all times. She is house trained and crate-trained. When on a leash, she needs to wear an Easy Walk harness to prevent excessive pulling. Due to her alpha personality, Bailey would do well as an only dog or with a beta companion. She also needs to be in an adult only home as sudden movements such as those associated with children make her nervous. If you feel like Bailey is the dog for you and want to help her come out of her shell even more, fill out an application requesting her.

"I am Andy. I just got out of jail free. I was so scared in there. But when my foster Mommy picked me up, I went straight into her arms and awaiting crate. (I love my crate). I had a nice ride home. If you want a balanced dog, look no more! Meet Tingo and Tango! The most well balanced dogs I've ever fostered. They are larger Min Pins, so if you don't want a tiny dog, one of these guys would be perfect for you! Since they are brothers, both dogs have similar behaviors.Tango is a few pounds heavier than Tingo. Tingo injured his leg a year ago and it was dislocated, but it has healed completely. It is slightly mishaped but it does not affect his activity level at all. They are very sweet dogs with no behavior problems at all...very well adjusted dogs. They are not food aggressive what-so-ever, obey basic commands, are very playful, good watch dogs, and ready to fill a home with puppy love! Both dogs are crate trained, good with other dogs and cats, and great with kids too! We are working on housetraining. Both dogs are high energy and must have a fenced yard to run around in. They are on an IAMS diet and they need to stay on the IAMS for their good health. They also must go to a home where they can live inside with their human companions. So please, if you want an outside dog, I cannot adopt either dog to you as these guys must be kept inside. I would like to adopt them together if possible, but I know that might not be what happens. Please contact me if you are interested in either dog.

Dori comes to us after being hit by a car. Took four months to recover and is now ready for a new home. Dori bonds quickly to women but is afraid and skiddish with men. "Hi my name is Radar....I am a very special boy, cropped and docked, chocolate with a beautiful coat. I was a puppymill dog, so am very scared at times and my foster Mom has to talk to me before picking me up but I love to go outside and run in the big fenced yard. I'm 12", 12#, with not an ounce of aggression in me....I get along with the other 6 in the house, especially Izzy who I love to play with. Because I'm so shy I try to sneak up on my foster Mom's chair with all the others and curl up behind her so she won't see me.....I loved to be held and cuddled once in a while then run back to my favorite blankets and curl up. Because of my puppymill backround, I know how to make the other dogs spill their food bowls so I can have some too so Mom feeds everybody in separate places but she can pick up my bowl without any problems. My absolutely favorite time of day is when we all get bones and treats but I stay back from the others so Mom has to throw mine and hope one of the others doesn't snitch it."

Marian: 8 yr old red female, spayed, docked tail and uncropped ears. 8", 11 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
This is Marian and she is a sweet, SWEET girl. Found as a stray by animal control, she waited and waited for her family to claim her, and nobody came. Ten longs days passed and still no one came. IMPS was not going to let anything happen to this precious girl and came to the rescue. Marian is a bundle and love and is the most squishable, squeezable little gal ever. She is so squishable and squeezable, that we nick-named her "Squeeze" and will sometimes call her "Squish" for fun! She answers Squeeze much better than her shelter name, Marian, so Squeeze is what she goes by. Squeeze is so easy to take care of and very laid back. She just loves to snuggle and cuddle, and will fall asleep in the crook of your arm. Squeeze also loves to sleep in the human bed with a family member, and sleeps very well through the night, and doesn't' need to get up until morning. Squeeze gets along well with the other 4 resident dogs. She barks at the cat, and may do fine with a cat, once she gets acclimated to a home, with proper introduction. Squeeze has not been tested with children, but she is so gentle that she will more than likely get along with just fine. Squeeze does fine going outside to potty, but hates the cold, so I have to watch to make sure she goes, before she comes back in. Then, she is good for a few hours. So, if you are up for a lifetime full of squish and squeeze, please email her foster mom and fill out an application to adopt.

"Hi! I am Tigger, a beautiful 6 year old chocolate, 13#, docked and natural ears that stand straight up especially when you say my name. I was very loved but my Dad passed and I found myself in a shelter for a few months....the folks there knew that I was special so they spoiled me until I got to come home with my foster Mom....here I love to play, run in the yard on nice days, and sleep in the bed as close to my foster Mom as I can....I LOVE to give kisses and am very gentle and loving. I chase the frisbee and the ball in the yard, and do well on lead, but if it is raining I try to sneak back into the house and use the puppy pads, and when it's really cold and icy outside I come back into the house and hold my paw up looking for sympathy. I love to go up and down stairs to explore....I am a very friendly little guy but sometimes take a few minutes to get to know new friends."
Foster Mom's notes: Tigger is a special loving little guy....his birthday is 12/06/06....he has no food aggression and gets along with the other 6 in the house wonderfully altho he still acts and likes to play like a puppy....he's active, happy, healthy, loves to be anywhere that I am. This sweet, handsome boy is looking for his forever home. He LOVES to cuddle, so only serious cuddlers allowed for him!! Scarlet: 8 mth old black & rust female, docked tail and uncropped ears. 11", 10 lb. Rescued from shelter.
"Hi, I'm Scarlet,a beautiful petite black/rust puppy...I'm 8 months old, 11", 10#, tail docked, beautiful natural ears....I was in a shelter with Pip who is believed to be a litter mate...he's my best friend but since being at my foster Mom's house I've made lots of new friends and do well by myself. I LOVE to run in the big back yard, sleep in bed, curl up on the big chair, and look out the window...I'm not much of a barker, am housebroken and crate trained but it's raining today so I used the puppy pads and have had a few misses....I also sometimes chew when left alone but my crate is clean (have to admit I chewed the puppy pad just a little tho...I AM a puppy!)...."
Scarlet was temperament tested by the shelter and passed everything with flying colors along with walking well on lead....and there were workers here and she sat in my arms not moving or barking, very comfortable with them... She is truly precious and would make a wonderful companion with older children. She will be altered, and her immunizations completed prior to adoption. "Hi, I'm Pip, a healthy, happy 8mo old puppy....I am a petite 11", 8# chocolate boy who loves everybody....my tail is docked,my ears very expressive and natural....I came to my foster Mom's house from a shelter with Scarlet and they think we are litter mates but no one knows for sure....we really like being together tho...but since coming to my foster Mom's house we've both made lots of friends and LOVE to run outside in the big back yard. My favorite spot inside is on top of Mom's big chair watching over the girls curled up next to Mom. I'm not much of a barker, crate trained, puppy-pad and outdoor trained but I did have to mark just like everybody else who's ever come into the house.....and as a puppy I DO like to chew so safer in the crate if left for any period of time....I was temperament tested before leaving the shelter and passed everything with flying colors...and then when my foster Mom had service men in the house I just sat pretty in her arms without any problems...not a sound from me....(everybody else but Scarlet was barking their head off)....I walk nicely on lead, ride well in the van, and have NO food aggression....."
Pip will be altered and his immunizations completed prior to adoption. He and Scarlet are absolutely precious but they ARE puppies so would do best in a home with older children and crated when left alone for any period of time...Please contact this foster Mom if you would like more information on these precious puppies.....

Herbie: 3-4 year old red male, natural ears and tail, 14" tall, 12 lbs. Herbie was picked up as a stray by Chicago Animal Control. After a couple of weeks there he was doing badly so they turned him over to rescue. He is a nice dog who gets along with other dogs and cats. He's still recovering from the trauma of being a stray on the streets of the big City and then spending time at the scary shelter. He will potty outside but needs some work on his housetraining. He's scheduled to be neutered shortly and that should help. He is very loving and sweet and seems to really appreciate being sprung from "prison". He will blossom in a loving home of his own with people who love him! Because we don't know his background and have not tested him with children an adult home is best for him. If upon further evaluation he is good with kids that criteria can be changed. Won't someone give Herbie a warm and permanent home who cares about him?

Baron: 1 year old, neutered red male, docked with natural ear. 16.4 lbs approximately 16 inches tall
Baron is a big, beautiful boy. He's somewhat bigger than the average min pin and would make a good walking partner just because of that reason.
He is crate trained and appears to be housetrained, although he has marked a bit at my house. He was not neutered when he came into rescue and now that he is I expect, with a little work, the marking will stop.
I have had him around my three year old granddaughter briefly and I think he would do well with respectful children. He likes other dogs and another playful dog in the house would be best for him. He also will need a fenced in yard; being a youngster, he needs to run off his energy and he loves to lay in the yard and sunbathe.

Tanner is an adorable, sweet 3 year old boy. Tanner is a bigger minpin and is absolutely gorgeous. He is good with kids and most other dogs. He loves to play fetch and with the toys. He likes to sleep in the bed and cuddle right next to his human. Tanner is high energy and likes to climb. He requires a 6ft privacy fence, as he is the master of escape. He loves to explore his surroundings. He is doing well with his housetraining, but has an occasional accident. He will chase cats, so would need to be in a home without them. He also is timid, and needs extra reassurance. Can you find room in your heart and home for this great pup?

Coco: 5 yr old chocolate and tan female, spayed, docked tail and uncropped ears. 9", 9 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Coco is a beautiful chocolate female. Coco is a little portly, and could stand to lose a few pounds. She is on a diet now, and is doing well! She is sooo sweet. She gets along well with all members of the family (including the cats!). She likes to sleep in the bed with someone at night. Coco likes to be with someone at all times. She would do best in a home with another dog, as she does have some separation anxiety. She will bark if she is downstairs, and the rest of the family is somewhere else. She would not do well in an apartment due to her barking. She loves to sit with her human, play, and loves furry toys.

Odie: 10 yr old Black & Tan male, docked tail, uncropped ears, 12", 13lbs. Odie is one friendly guy, who loves to lounge around, run around in the yard and loves to go on walks. Odie loves to explore everything when he takes his daily walk and always has the attitude as if he is on a new adventure everyday. He loves to snuggle, sleep under the covers and loves the attention he gets from his humans. Odie is crate trained, house trained and of course, walks well on leash. He gets along with just about everyone and would make a great addition to your home.

AnaBella: 10 yr old red female, spayed, docked tail and uncropped ears. 14", 15.6 lb. Shots up-to-date. Owner give-up.
SPECIAL NEEDS DOG: AnaBella is a 10 year old, spayed red min pin with docked tail and natural ears. She is a larger min pin, at about 14 inches and 15 pounds. She is also blind due to untreated dry eye. She is mostly housebroken, although she has the occasional accident. If she were in a household where someone was home most of the day, I'm sure she would be 100% in no time. Her former home said she was housebroken, using a doggy door. AnaBella is a very laid back, loving min pin who loves to sit by you on the sofa and cuddle. She is crate trained. She can be a bit of a barker, so she would not be suitable for an apartment. Being blind, she tends to walk on her back legs and paw the air when she is looking for her human or for a treat, so older kids and adults would be fine, but she could knock down a small child. She does OK on a leash, although would much prefer to have a yard to run around in, which she has in her foster home. I think AnaBella would be fine as a only dog, or possibly with 1 or 2 other dogs. In her current home she is one of 10, and being blind, would do better with fewer dogs. She will need medication to treat her dry eye for the rest of her life. She is currently taking a food supplement and uses a topical eye drop - both of which cost less than $10 a month. Won't you consider giving one of our special needs senior dogs a chance to be a member of your family?

This handsome, sweet, fun loving boy is looking for his forever home! He is great with other dogs, good with people after he gets to know you and he is like any other min pin, who loves to get as much attention as he can. Boogie: 4 yr old black & tan male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 12", 14.9 lb. Fully vetted. Rescued from shelter.
Boogie was abandoned at a shelter because his family was having another baby, although the first child in the family was great friends with Boogie. He's a very happy boy, gets along just fine with other dogs and is friendly with strangers. Boogie is housebroken, does not mark in the house and uses the doggie door into the backyard appropriately. In fact, once he learned how, he's in and out a lot! He doesn't even mind running around in the snow! Boogie is currently looking for a new home that will promise never to abandon him!

Murphy: 7-9 yr old red male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 14.2 lb. Rescued from shelter.
Murphy is a real charmer, claiming any visitors to our home as "his own". He loves to make friends with everyone. Murphy is also smart as a whip and has learned to "stay" when we tell him to. He's a real snuggle bug and would love to find a home of his own. It's going to take a special home to adopt Murphy; one that has a lot of love to give. Murphy has an enlarged heart and requires a pill once a day You'd never know there is anything wrong with him by looking at him because he looks and acts like a typical min pin! The vet says he is good to go and as long as he stays on his medicine, he can lead a perfectly normal life. Somewhere out there is someone with an equally big heart that will want Murphy by their side. Could that someone be you?

Monty: 4 yr old black and rust male, docked tail, natural ears, 12.5 lbs.
He may be 4 yrs old, but Monty is still all PUPPY! He LOVES to play and has tons of energy. His favorite game is playing "tackle the doberman"! Like most puppies, when playtime is over, he crashes and enjoys a nice snooze on the couch. Monty is very nervous around children so he will need an adults only home. He will also need a home with a fenced yard and at least one other dog to play with and help him put his energy to good use. Monty is very loving and attaches himself to "his person" quickly. Sadly, this is Lexie's second time with IMPS. She was adopted a few years ago by a wonderful retired couple. We have no idea what happened to them or how Lexie ended up in a shelter, but we are thankful she is safe and back with us. Lexie is a very calm and laid back min pin. She won't drive you nuts by always wanting to go-go-go like most min pins. She is very content to nap in her bed during the day, snuggle with you at night, and always enjoys a good belly rub. She gets along with the other dogs, but prefers not to be pestered by them. She is housebroken and does not need to be crated. If you are looking for the perfect snuggle buddy, Lexie is your girl.

Tugboat (Teddy): 5-6 yr old black and rust male, 15.5 lbs, docked tail, uncropped ears. Fully vetted.
This little boy is a miraculous marvel. The pictures you see are of a young pooch that has lost over 20 lbs. Yes, you read that right. This young man came to us at 38 lbs. He now weighs 15.5 lbs. Isn't he gorgeous!! Tugboat also survived having bladder stone surgery.
Teddy will grab your heart and never let go. He is very jealous of other dogs being around his person so he would be great as an only dog. He likes to go on walks and snuggle with you.
Tugboat Teddy has some quirks which are totally endearing. He likes to throw his head around when he is excited. If you get too close, he may accidentally hit you, but then he kisses you to apologize. He also likes to "wave" at his foster mom when she is getting his dinner ready (check out the video to see this!). What a cutie!

Teddy: 5-6 yr old male min pin, neutered, shots up to date, 12 lbs, docked tail, natural ears.
What an awesome dog! Teddy's only been here a week and already we are comfortable giving him the run of the house. He has not had one accident and hasn't chewed up anything what so ever. After sleeping all week in his crate burrowed under the covers, last night he decided he liked sleeping next to me in the bed. He loves toys as well. Teddy is great with other dogs and loves to play with them. He's smart, knows basic commands like sit and just seems like a dream dog at this point. I do think he'd do best in a home with another dog as he seems to be a bit of a "follower". I just can't say enough good things about him!

Toto: 2 yr old black & tan male, undocked tail and uncropped ears. 12", 9.6 lb. Rescued from shelter.
Has only been around one other female dog so far but he hasn't shown any aggression towards her. He knows that he's suppose to go to the bathroom outside now, he's just afraid of a leash. Still working on that. He likes the harness much better than the collar. Very affectionate once he gets to know you.
