"Good Morning, my name is Cherry. I came to rescue about a year ago. Now you are wondering WHY am I still in rescue then? Well you see I have skin and food allergies. Dr. Hoffman had to find out how to help me first, then I had to start taking special food and a pill every six days for my health.
Now I am healthy and full of life. I enjoy my food, and take my pill with cream cheese or mash potatoes."
Cherry's foster mom say, "Cherbear enjoys sitting in my lap, going for walks, riding in the car, and meeting new people."
Cherry has only known love and kindness. Her first family sent her to rescue when her momma lost her job. This little girl grows on you. Cherry also does not mind getting her nails trimmed and getting a bath.
She gets along with the other furkids in the home, but will try every way she can to be close to you, especially sitting in your lap.
Cherry really needs to find that special home who will continue with her food and pill. The family that would give her that safe haven, will be rewarded ten times over. Cherry is a truly amazing girl.

Goofy: 5-6 yr old red male, neutered, docked tail and cropped ears. 12", 12 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
"Hello, my name is Goofy, not sure how I got the name, but I do answer to it. I enjoy eating my meals, leaving nothing behind, cuddling while watching tv with my people, laying quietly while you are in the kitchen working, and just want to be with my family. I enjoy the companionship of older children and adults.
I am living with many other small dogs looking for a new forever home as well. I am fine with small dogs, but just don't really care for large dogs."
Goofy rides well in the car, loves going on walks, and is polite when meeting new people. As you can see by his picture how handsome he is.
Goofy will tell the other furkids nicely when they are crowding him, and is just a sweet and kind furkid looking for his forever home.

Troy aka Buddy: 5 yr old black & rust male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 11", 10 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
His "official name" is Troy, but he is so sweet, I have re-named him "Buddy". How do I describe this wonderful loving boy? Buddy becomes so excited when it is treat or time to eat, and he eats everything in his bowl. When he sees the lead he knows time for a walk, and he is ready to seek new adventures. Buddy enjoys riding in the car, and watching the world go by.
His favorite spot is in your lap, just resting and receiving love and attention. He is not pushy and will wait his turn to receive his attention.
Buddy came from a hoarder, and spent most of his time in a crate, and for this reason does not enjoy spending much time in one. He will eat his meals and take small naps with the door open, but will bark if the door is closed.
This little boy bonds very quickly and when his forever home is found, he will shower you will all the love and attention he has inside of him. If you are looking for a very loving boy, he is waiting for you.

If you are looking for young, fun, and energetic, Jasmin is your girl! She loves playing with toys, taking walks, and sitting next to you on the couch. She knows the "sit" command and has potty-trained herself in the last few weeks. She is a fast learner and is eager to please. Jasmin gets very excited around strangers and will need an owner that is experienced with min pins and can help teach Jasmin how to control her emotions when meeting new people. If you are looking for someome to help keep you warm at night, she is a great cuddler and really enjoys any attention that she gets. Let this little girl show you how much she has to offer.

Alex - "ADOPTION PENDING": 8 month old chocolate male, neutered, shots are up to date, docked tail, natural ears, 10", 9#.
Are you looking for a handsome and quiet furboy? Alex is your dog. This little angel is quiet and rarely barks, but enjoys his foster brothers and sisters. One of his favorite activities is playing in the snow with his foster fur brother Manny. Alex enjoys running and jumping in the fenced in yard. He enjoys going for car rides, taking walks with his foster mom, and just hanging out watching tv with his family at night.
I find it so hard to imagine that this little guy was a stray,and his family did not come for him. Alex is a little nervous meeting new people, but warms quite quickly if treats are involved.
When you meet Alex for the first time you will notice that he is blinking most of the time. He was born with eyelids that are too short, and that is why he blinks.. My vet feels that it does not hurt or bother him, but just adds to his charm.
Alex is so handsome with his dark chocolate coat, he reminds me of candy.. Good looking on the outside and so yummy on the inside..
Alex needs a forever home where he will receive all the love and attention, he has missed out in his short little life.

Isabella is a wonderful little girl who is looking for a forever home. She is an insulin dependent diabetic, who needs 2 shots a day, but take her shots very well. Bella was spending her time riding in a semi, but had some issues with the other minpin, so was turned over so she could find a new home. Isabella does fine in a house with other dogs, so maybe the truck was just too small for her to share space with another dog. :) If you would like to add Isabella to your family, contact her foster dad.

Pepper is a nice little dog who is a bit fearful at first. He was a stray who didn't seem to have known many kind people. He was very distrusting at first and felt he had to put on a big bad front to try and scare everyone away. It almost cost him is life at the shelter. Once he found out people can be nice, he has turned into a totally different dog. He must have been out on his own for quite awhile as he was very skinny when he came into rescue and we are still working on adding a few more pounds to him. Chester: 10-12 yr old black & tan male, neutered, docked tail and cropped ears. 12", 10 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Chester is such a sweet boy considering the life he came from. He has spent his entire life in a puppymill and has now been freed. When I brought him home 1 1/2 weeks ago, he is a scared little dog. Never wagged his tail and was afraid of human touch. He looked so sad and scared. He is now begining to seek out attention, his little nub wagging 100 miles per hour. He still crouchs down when you reach to pick him up as if he is afraid of being hurt. There is no telling what suffering this little guy suffered. He stays in an x-pen in my kitchen when I am gone and has not pottyed once in there, though does need to wear a belly band when loose in the house. Chester is looking for that home that will show him what it is like to be a loved member of a family.

Sunny is a very regal boy who has spent his life in a puppymill. He has been freed and is now enjoying the good life of sunning himself in the yard and having the freedom to roam the yard. Sunny was afraid of human contact at first, but in the 1 1/2 weeks he has been here, he is loving the attention and his little nub never stops wagging. He is kept in an x-pen in my kitchen when I am not home and has never pottied in there, but does need to wear a belly band when running loose in the house. Sunny is hoping that patient family will come forward and give him all the love and attention he missed all those years in a cage.

Can you see puppy, puppy, puppy. Chopper is quite the energetic puppy at 10 months old. He loves to run and play in the backyard and loves his toys. Chopper gets along with other dogs both larger and smaller than him. He is crate trained and we are working on potty training, but is doing well on a schedule. Noel is a sweet 4 y.o. girl with natural ears and cropped tail. She is very affectionate once she gets to know you and loves to cuddle on the couch. Noel loves being close to her favorite human and will follow you around wherever you go. She will patiently lay by your feet and wait until you are ready to give her some attention. She enjoys playing with her stuffed toys and absolutely loves spending time in the backyard. Noel is very well mannered and doesn't bark or jump on people. She is also completely crate trained, house trained and very well behaved. She gets along very well with all the dogs she meets, but can be shy with strange humans. "Just look at my precious face! If only I could tell you the secrets of my life before coming to IMPS, then I could explain my fears and uncertainties that at moments inhibit my loving dog personality. My foster mom would tell you that I have improved greatly since my first day with her. I want to come sit and lay next to you, and want to play with you... but fast movements send me scampering away with fear, and I'm not sure how to play with toys with humans. I do love to run and play chase with my foster brothers, and I've meet several new friends (dogs) that I get along with as well. There is cat where I am as well and I don't bother her much at all. I can sleep in a kennel at night or love to cuddle in the bed. I am a fairly calm girl and loved to be softly rubbed down, but don't be mistaken I have energy to burn! I need a home with patients for my fears, which can be calm with me and allow for time for this to change and soon will build a bond with you to last forever!"

Hot Shot: 1+ yr old black & tan male, to be neutered 3/9, docked tail and cropped ears. 9-10 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
"HotShot," as the shelter he came from called him is a sweet young male just ready to make your home complete! His friendly, laid back personality lead him to believe he could just walk into any persons home and be accepted there.. and that's just what he did one day, when someone opened their door to leave, he walked right in...as if he was some big Hot Shot or something! Unfortunately he couldn't stay there. Hotshot gets along well with other dogs, as well as cats. He really looks forward to sitting with/by/on anyone who will show him love... and really loves to love on you! While he does not know "sit", "stay", "come" yet, he is well behaved and a patient pup. But don't let the calm persona fool you.. he still has the min pin energy in him dying to run and play. He will be neutered on 3/9/2010 and be ready to come to your home shortly after!

"Hello everyone, I would like to introduce myself, my name is Skypper. I am fun, fun, fun, fun, fun! My foster mom says that I am the most handsome dynamo around. I love to give kisses and hugs. I am a typical min pin-full of life, tons of energy, love toys and competitive. I love to wrestle, play ball, run and chase around with one of my foster sisters that is just as fast if not faster than any min pin I have ever seen. That is pretty amazing since she is a pug/doxie. I do have a quiet and shy side. I like to hang out with my foster family, watching moves and snuggling up with a blanket on my foster mom's lap. "Hi! My name is Mosia, but my foster family just calls me Mosey. I'm a sweet southern girl, just flown up here from the great state of Texas. I was rescued, along with over 100 other min pins, from a bad situation in Dallas. I am so grateful to be out of there! Now, all I want is a home of my very own that I will never have to leave again, where I will have plenty of food, room to run, a comfortable place to sleep, and lots of love. I adore all people and other dogs (I don't know about cats--I haven't seen one lately). I love having a yard to play in and having another dog that is willing to play chase would be wonderful. All I want to do is please so I don't understand how I ended up in this mess. Brock: 4 yr old stag red male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 12", 8.6 lb. Rescued from shelter.
"Hello, my name is Brock! As you can see, I am a handsome, healthy young dog!"
If you would like a young companion with a quirky personality, keeping you in stitches, this might be the dog you are dreaming of. Brock is housetrained and crate trained, leash trained and learns quickly. Brock knows basic commands but will benefit immensely from a formal obedience class where he can bond with his new owner.
Brock is a great dog for apartment living, as he takes up little space and is small and clean. He hardly sheds and his coat is a striking Stag Red, the color of the original Reh Pinscher, from Germany. Brock is good to go nearly everywhere and makes a compact little traveling companion. While we don't recommend him for small children, he gets along well with older children and other dogs. He would be happiest being an only dog in a home with experienced dog owners, especially terrier or min pin owners. He loves the one on one attention. It has taken a long time for him to come out of his shell and become affectionate in his foster home, so his new home should be patient with him and give him the time he needs to feel secure in new surroundings. "Hi all! My name is Miya and I'm just a youngster at 18 mo old-still a puppy, really, withh the typical min pin energy and zest for life and adventure. I'm a bit tall and lanky (14 inches tall and 14 lbs), but I'm very pretty as you can see by my pictures. I was found wandering the mean streets and was lucky enough to end up in a wonderful foster home here with IMPS. I really want to please everyone, but my new home will need to be patient with me and teach me what it is that they expect from me. I am afraid of men, but, with time and understanding, can adjust to a home with a kind daddy. I like other dogs and get along with cats and kids. Since I'm so young, I have the potential to be an awesome dog for the right family who understands my lively min pin personality. I'm scheduled to be 'fixed' February 23 (I didn't know I needed fixing LOL!) and will be available after that date. SEXY SENIORS/SPECIAL NEEDS DOGS LOOKING FOR LOVE
Since its inception, IMPS volunteers have dedicated themselves to rescuing Miniature Pinchers and doing their best to find the perfect forever home for them. Sadly, there are always too many dogs needing us, for the foster space available, so we have to turn too many away. Unfortunately it's usually the older/special needs dogs we have to say no to, since we know that they will probably not get adopted, and will remain for the duration of their lives with their kind foster families. We understand that everyone wants a younger dog, to have many years together, but where is the guarantee on that? Unfortunate things can happen to a dog of any age. Sure, if you adopt an older dog, you probably won't have it many, many years, but even if it's just 6 mos., isn't the mutual love given during that time, and the satisfaction of knowing you have helped an unwanted dog worth it? If you are an older person yourself, and adopt a young dog that outlives you, what is going to happen to it? You think family or friends will take it, but believe me, that is not always so. A lot of dogs we have, are from just that scenario. There are many benefits from adopting an older dog, since this is already long, we won't get into all of them, but if finances are a concern, the adoption donation asked is much lower on the older ones. Please find it in your heart to at least think about adopting a senior/special needs dog, or maybe you would like to become a foster home for one. Now, on to our Sexy Seniors/Special Needs babies. Each of them are very loving and need little care, mainly they need love. Some have problems that are typical in older dogs, some just have that distinguished gray look about them, but they all like to go outside and walk around and enjoy the sun. We love each of them and they are more than welcome to spend the rest of their days with us, but to have their own home with special attention would be better. Thanks for listening.

Panda Bear is just 12 " high and 14 lbs, she is up to date on her shots, will be micro chipped, is heartworm negative and on preventative, is spayed, is a gorgeous red girl with a natural tail and beautiful natural ears that flop over. Panda is a nice 11 years young and very spy and active, you would never believe she is 11. Panda even has all her own teeth, no dentures for this girl.
Panda Bear is truly an amazing little girl, she is housebroken and crate trained, while she will not at this time enter the crate on her own she is quite in the crate at night; all night long, I will also assume she is quiet when we leave during the day. We are working on her entering the crate on command, Panda will sit on command and will take a treat nicely but otherwise has some pretty rough manner's, these stem from being outside for quite a while, so please try to understand that and give her time to learn and learn she can as she is very bright. Panda Bear will pull hard on the leash until you take back control and put her on the short leash and make sure she is listening which she will tell you she can't hear LOL's, the best solution here would be a martingale which would give some pull, or a gentle leader.
She has the personality of a saint, truly she loves everybody, she runs from person to person wanting attention, a pat on the head, a hug, she did fabulous at the vet, got all her shots with nary a care in the world, taking it all in stride. Panda Bear had been left chained outside for a while and had some pretty nasty wounds, but she is healing nicely now. It appears she will be good even with children, she met with one at the vet's office and had no problems when she went for a medicated bath the other day, she will also be meeting the foster Mom's grandchildren in January so that will be a real test as they are 1, 2, and 4. Cats scare her so there is no problem there and she rules other dogs big and small, if they get in her face she snaps at them and puts them in their place quickly and believe me even my Dobergirl backs off. But don't think she does not get along with them as she does, just right now she has to learn to get along, and having other's in her space is hard.
Now can you find it in your heart and home to adopt this wonderful little girl and give her a home for the remaining years of her life, that is all she is asking now, a warm home to call her own. Comet has been named appropriately as he runs and jumps like a deer. He is so animated in everything he does. He loves to play with the other dogs, runs around the house playing with the toys and loves for you to throw the ball for him...just know right now he does not bring it back! Comet is a cuddler and likes nothing better than to sit on your lap when ever you decide to relax. He is very good at squeezing himself between you and anything that is in his way to cuddle with you, be that a book, newspaper, computer table, laptop...he is not fussy. He just wants to be loved and give love in return. A beautiful little man.

Tootsie: 9 yr old black & rust female, docked tail and cropped ears. 14", 13 lb. Rescued from shelter.
SPECIAL NEEDS - Tootsie is a laid back, really, really nice girl.
She has an old injury to her right back leg - when she came both back legs were weak with not much muscle. That is improving but the right is still a little smaller than the left. She walks on the right leg but often will hold it up and skip. She takes glucosamine plus an herbal mix for her leg. But she likes to go for walks -- and actually expects walks at least twice a day. On walks, if she sees a rabbit/squirrel etc she does want to chase it. She is fine with all my little dogs but is not so fond of big dogs. She is a bit hard of hearing but she CAN hear.
Tootsie will stay in a crate but she doesn't like it. She will bark and whine to get out. However she will jump into one happily to eat.
She has a little separation anxiety -- she will bark and howl when I first leave the house but then she quiets down. She will bark for her food, and will bark to warn of visitors (if she hears them) but otherwise is pretty quiet. Not a lap cuddler but likes to be close. And especially likes having a blankie to cover up with. She sleeps with me but at the foot of the bed and I have a step so she can get up there on her own.

Calvin: 10+ yr old chocolate male, neutered, docked tail and cropped ears. 12", 10 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Calvin will win your heart with his cuteness. He has a mild temperament and adapts well to your household routine -- gets along fine with other dogs, large and small. He'll let you know when you are supposed to serve him his breakfast or dinner by getting in play position and wiggling and making noises to get your attention. He loves to be petted but also has no problem snuggling with a blanket by himself on a chair across from you. He wants to be in the same room with you, however. Calvin sleeps in a crate at night. He recently had a thorough dental at the vet. He is missing some teeth but gets along fine without them. It is a bit comical to see his tongue slip out one side of his mouth from time to time.

Tripp is a 1-year-old stag red purebred minpin with a thick, butter-soft coat (the natural one, that is!) and a bouncy, playful and perky personality. He is an absolute sweetheart, and will immediately wiggle his way into your heart with such a great personality! He loves to play, has a ton of energy, but also knows when to settle down and love on you. He's good on walks and even likes to run! He has a fascination with hiding things and loves to play the 'guess-where-I-just-stashed-my-rawhide-game'. He gets along great with other dogs and hasn't met a person he doesn't love immediately. Pinnie is a fun, fit and friendly red MinPin. When you meet her, you will not believe she is 10 years old. It appears she inherited the best genes possible and also was very well cared for. Her owners sadly had to give her up when they went into a retirement home. Pinnie is active and likes to go on walks, likes to visit other small dogs and kids. She is leash-trained and house-trained, and comes when called. She's glad to see you when you come home and will lead you to the door so she can go outside. She's a sturdy and healthy pinner with no medical issues at all.

Woops, we thought he was a MinPin. Although he has some MinPin-like characteristics, we now think Skippy is a Chi-Weenie; that is, a Dachshund-Chihuahua mix. He will attach to his caretaker and want nothing more out of life than to be with YOU! He's good car rider-likes to ride on your lap, but he's stiill while he's there. He is healthy and happy, submissive, and eager to please. Also crate trained. A little defensive with large dogs and also a bit competitive with another 5 yr old male foster (they're too much alike), but he gets along fine with my other canine household members. Watch out, Skippy will steal your heart scampering up to you and slanting those BIG pleading eyes up at you for some lovin'! Bet he wants a little treat with that too!

Spike aka Moe: 6 yr old black & tan male, neutered, docked tail and cropped ears. 12", 12 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Moe is the quintessential minpin: batwing ears, bright brown eyes, barrel chest and a thick black-and-tan coat. He walks the minpin prance and does the minpin dance when he sees you. He loves toys and loves to play. He's got the cutest strut when he's full of himself! He can be overcome with his own enthusiasm, and you'll see a sudden burst and scamper down the hall, his back legs trying to outrun his front legs! Moe is housebroken and crate trained, but doesn't quite communicate his need to go out he does well on a regular schedule in a fenced yyard. He needs to be fed away from others, ideally in his crate, for he is protective of food and toys. He is also touch-sensitive, and takes indignant issue with being poked, grabbed, or held against his wishes. Invite him to come to you, and he's all yours, right up on your lap with enthusiastic kisses. He very much enjoys attention and doesn't shy away when you let him know you are there and pet him. He is especially tender and content when he gets to snuggle up next to you on the couch. Moe is sweet, loving and self-entertaining, and would do best in a home with no children.

Charley: 4 yr old black & tan male, neutered, undocked tail and uncropped ears. 12", 11 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Charley is a sweet, submissive and happy little boy. He also has some unexplained fears he is working to overcome. Slender and lively, he's excited to see you and runs out to say hi, diving to his belly a foot short of your reach. Sudden movement or sound may spook him, he needs his crate left open to return to when his courage runs out. Charley has a slight overbite, bright wide set eyes, and batwing ears that he swivels frequently. His antics are downright comical, especially when he tilts his head and starts that swivel. He loves to play and tease, chest down and butt up in the air! Charley is crate-trained and mostly housebroken, but his fears can prevent him from getting to the door when he needs to. He is being fed in his den so he won't have to defend his food. He is terrified of the leash, and is an escape artist and bolter. We accompany him in a secure fenced yard at regular intervals and have no issues. He has gotten to know us, will do his business, and enjoys playing with the other dogs. Charley needs patience and love and a soft-spoken reprimand when appropriate, it may take him a while to get over his fears. To our surprise, he ran from the camera, so this may be a case where ya just have to meet him. He is nippy if forced when he's afraid, and he can be more fearful with men, but we are seeing all around improvement with more and more socialization with the family. He is very much worth it, and really loves to be loved.

Malcolm: 7 yr old black & rust male, neutered, docked tail and cropped ears. 14", 14 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Malcolm is a special, one-of-a-kind sweet little man. His coat is irresistibly thick and soft. He'll greet you with a bound, a spin and a back leg stand, front paws tucked close to his chest or one extended as if to greet you. He will bow his head and gently lean into you to have his ears warmed and stroked, and if you don't get it, he will use his paw to show you how he wants it done! Malcolm is steady, even-tempered, and healthy, content to sit next to you, or even partway on your lap if you'll let him! Quiet and alert, he'll make his rounds of the house or yard to make sure everything is where he left it; check out the windows and doors, and return to your side. He is crate-trained and housetrained, sleeps in a crate at night, and can self-entertain with a bone for hours. Surprisingly, he likes to be showered for his bath. Malcolm seems to be a well-balanced, all-around good companion for adults and other dogs; he is social and thriving in this environment. Having come to us from a situation of severe overcrowding and neglect, we recommend a home without young children.

Tyrone: 5 yr old black & tan male, neutered, docked tail and cropped ears. 10", 8 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Ty is a loveable little man with a big heart and undefeatable courage. He came to us emaciated with severe hair loss, a leg that had broken and healed without medical attention, and trouble digesting his food due to stress. Today this little guy has reached optimum weight, his skin has healed and his hair grown back. He favors his leg but it doesn't seem to cause pain and he can use it some. Ty is a born snuggler he burrows into your neck, knee, elbow or lap any nook! He's so very happy to see you, he dives into your hands, his tail wiggling so fast you almost can't see it. Ty has a large fleece blanket that he will burrow under, and carefully pulls and tucks the edges under himself and falls asleep. He frequently forgets to leave a way out, so when you call him, you see the outline of his head poke up and around to sniff! Its hilarious. He is housetrained, crate trained and a quiet boy, and definitely prefers to remain indoors, going out only to get his business done and scamper back in. Ty's build is delicate and he will do best in a home without big dogs or young children that could inadvertently hurt him. As far as he's concerned, he could happily spend the whole day in your arms!

Jazzy: 22 month old female spayed black and tan, Docked tail, and uncropped ears, 11" tall 13#6ozs ("and dropping more weight now I am on a diet, I was 18# when I first went to the vet"). Shots up to date, Heartworm negative Owner Give up.
"Hi I'm Jazzy or as my foster mom calls me "Jazz", "Raz a ma jazz", or "Razzy". I will answer to any name I just want to be with people. I am great with older people and babies.
About 2 months ago I was attacked by a dog from up the block, he had escaped his invisible fence. I had some very bad bite wounds on my right rear leg. I have lost some muscle in there, but you would never know I love to run and play. It hurt pretty bad but I was always very polite and never tried to bite the vet. I really have some bad scars but my foster mom says it gives me personality. When my hair grows back you will hardly be able to tell.
My original Mom was so very sad she couldnt afford my vet bills and brought me in to be put me to sleep. After long consideration she decided to give me to my foster mom and let her take over my care and responsibility of me. Now my wounds are healed, I no longer have that horrible bandage that had to be changed daily ( oh How I hated that). I am able to run and play agian.
I am crate trained but love being on the couch with everyone. My foster family has 2 min pins, a doberman, a cat, and a 2 year old grandson. He's my favorite he loves to feed me and give me treats, My foster mom says no more treats because again I am on a diet, ugh I hate this diet thing. I must say though I do look much better I am even getting my waist back.
I love to chase squirrels, play with the cat,and other dogs. I love to cuddle and run around the yard. I am always quiet in my crate unless I feel the need to go potty than I will let you know.
Barely 2 and I have already had 2 homes. I want someone who can Love me forever. I have SO much Love to give. My Foster mom has fallen in love with me and she knows you will too. Please consider me."

Rocky is a very happy go lucky boy who has spent his life in a puppy mill. He loves being able to run free in the backyard, you can tell by that big smile on his face. He is still a bit shy when meeting people, but a home who is willing to work with him will reap the rewards of his love. He is crate trained, but still needs to wear a belly band in the house as he still has the tendency to mark his territory. With consistent training, he will be successfully potty trained. He doesn't understand the leash yet, so a home with a fenced yard would be best.

Rocky is a perfect little min pin. He is very well behaved and enjoys playing with the other dogs and even the cat. He loves to run fast, jump up and down, play chase and pull the stuffing out of all his toys to find the squeaker. He does not like trash bags for some reason and is a bit timid around new people for a few minutes. His leash manners need some work but he does love to go on walks. Like most min pins, he is an escape artist and will take any opportunity to run. This dog is just a happy, friendly, fun loving little dog. He would love to find a new family that had another dog he could wrestle and chase. Are you that family?

Franny: Approx 6 yr old chocolate/tan female, spayed, docked tail and cropped ears. 12.5 lb. Shots up-to-date, microchipped and recent dental.
Franny is a beautiful chocolate girl. She's a very sweet dog that loves people and does well with other animals. Franny enjoys resting in her dog bed with a nice treat but has recently learned that "cat chasing" is too fun for barks. They run so she keeps chasing - what dog fun she has!. She is friendly and always greets you with a wag of her nubby tail. Since her dental we have noticed a much more playful attitude in Franny. She feels good and enjoys playing with toys and the other dogs. Did I mention she loves to chase the cat? She is such a loving dog and is going to make some lucky person a wonderful companion. She enjoys everything; going for walks, car rides, playing, cat chasing, cuddlying and just being an all around special dog. She is housetrained but will have accidents in her crate if left too long. (Well, duh.) If you ask her, "Want to go outside?" she gets really excited and spin in circles, stands on her back legs and prances which makes me laugh everytime. Franny would prefer to be any only dog or a home with small dogs (maybe a cat or two for fun) but no large dogs. After an attack by a larger dog Franny says, "no way" to be arounding them. Ask her nicely and she might show you her scar. Franny is a people dog. She loves people and wants to be with them everywhere. Would you like Franny to be with you? You won't be sorry giving this special girl a second look.

Jack: 14+, black and tan, male, docked tail and cropped ears, 7lbs.
Jack is a very elderly dog who was found as a stray just wandering on Thanksgiving eve out in the cold. Thank goodness for the kindness of strangers who found him and took him. Turns out he has lost most of his eye sight and has pain due to broken back that has left him with little feeling in his back legs. That hasn't stopped this little "champion" from pulling himself up, steadying himself before swinging his body so that he can move his back legs. He is quite amazing at how he found a way to compensate for his handicap. We don't know how Jack ended up in such dire circumstances, we are just happy to have him safe. He has been nothing but calm, loving and sweet. I think he is grateful too. We know his chances of finding an adopter are very slim but would you like to help pay for his care? "Hello everyone out there. My name is Junior. If you have been following my story, you will know I am one of the luckiest Min Pins on earth! You see, my owners didn't really pay attention to me and I wandered into the street where a big car hit me. My owners were not mean people, just careless. Then, instead of taking me to the puppy hospital, my owners took me to the shelter to be put to sleep. I was so scared and in so much pain. My back legs hurt so badly because they were broken and I had a broken pelvis. I lay in the shelter without treatment for four whole days but it seemed like an eternity. Then the lady from IMPS found out about me and swooped in like an angel and took me to the vet for immediate attention. I had two surgeries that helped piece my legs back together and the best part is that now I can RUN and PLAY! I still don't use my right leg when I'm walking or running, only when I play tug-o-war with the other pinheads. I will need daily therapy, which involves flexing my leg joints 2-3 times a day, until my leg starts working better. So, whoever adopts me will have to commit to my therapy schedule. I am a sweet little boy and I really want a chance to live the perfect dog's life in the lap and arms of a family who loves me (and wants to play). I have been neutered and am up-to-date on my shots."

Jake is about 10 years old but not at all "old." He is vigorous, energetic, and enthusiastic about his people, walks, food, snuggles and much more. He is black/tan (some gray), about 13 lb., docked tail, natural small ears. He is a sweety, housetrained and cooperative. Jakey-wakey is up on shots, altered, microchipped. He does not try to dig out or escape to see what is on the other side of the fence. He gets along with everyone, canine and human. Jake is a special little joy.
Jake was found in Allen, Texas, and his home could not be located. He may have been de-barked as his bark is very soft. He loves walks, cuddles, food. He enjoys the yard but could thrive in an apartment if given nice walks. Recently he was diagnosed with diabetes. Early diagnosis and good care means he is doing well, no loss of eyesight or other effects. He eats special food and needs very little insulin (Vetsulin ®) With daily walks and the special food, he might need no insulin (no walks until his foster mom gets a cast off her leg.)

I'm an easy going, active fellow who loves to play with toys and gets along with everybody - even cats! I can be your best buddy, keep you laughing, and cuddle with the best of them. Dominic: 2 yr old black & rust male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 12", 13 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Dominic is a very laid back easy going small min pin boy of about 13 lbs. He is black and rust with natural ears that stick out sort of like Dobbie in Harry Potter with an adorable face and a docked tail. He was rescued from one of the worst cases of animal cruelty - a puppy mill that allowed not only min pins but other breeds of dogs suffer horribly in very bad conditions. Dominic was treated for heartworms but has now had negative readings, so adoptable now. He has really come out of his shell and enjoyed playing with the other dogs as Dominic is pretty shy at first. He still cowers when you go to pick him up, but I think it is more his personality now as opposed to fear and very endearing in my opinion. Dominic would be perfect for a retired couple or a single person that wants a more laid back, but very affectionate little boy and would benefit from a nice yard because he loves the outdoors only when you are out with him. Also, he needs a routine with a stable home environment to feel secure. He is almost always very shy at first, but then becomes very demanding about cuddles and love. He needs ONLY positive reinforcement due to his past and responds really well to it. He sleeps with his foster mom in her bed and only has an open crate with a bed in it that he like to sleep in, so we don't know how he would respond in a closed crate. He is penned as opposed to crated. We tend to think that he would do better in a no very young kid, no-cat home and only with a more laid back dog of like temperment. He does chase the cats when given the opportunity in his foster home but does not attack if he catches them. The reason why we believe no very young kids is because he is very delicate and would not understand children that don't know their boundaries. Dominic is a sweet, loving little guy that reacts to every cuddle and pet.

Faith: 2 yr old black & tan female, undocked tail and uncropped ears. 15", 12.8 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Faith is a beautiful and very sweet, shy 2-3 year old puppy mill rescue. She was brought to IMPS pregnant and gave birth to five pups. She is now spayed, healthy, up to date on shots, heartworm negative and on prevention.
Faith is a work in progress and needs an experienced dog-lover owner. She is very shy of people, and it takes her quite a while to learn to trust and warm up. She needs a calm, patient, experienced adopter who is willing to let this girl blossom. You can thank the puppy mill for her fear issues. It took time to make her this way, it will take time to undo the harm.
She likes toys, and is learning to play a little with her foster mom. She likes to be near her person and follows everywhere. She is housebroken, uses the doggy door. She is learning how to walk on a leash - she's good, but afraid to leave the safety of her yard even with her pack members accompanying her. Faith is amazingly athletic and can jump a 5 foot fence with ease, but all she wants is back in her yard where she feels safe. A secure yard, with a tall fence is a must since she cannot be walked at this point.
She's not aggressive, gets along and loves to play with other dogs and even tolerates cats. She's very smart and attentive. She is better with women than men, and would do best in a home without children. It would help her if there is already a stable, calm dog in the family to model behavior for her.
She very much wants to give her heart to someone, and is making an effort to overcome her fears. If you can wait for the reward and appreciate the small victories in the meantime, please contact her foster mom, Katherine at minpinity@gmail.com.

Razz-Ma-Tazz is a delightful black and tan, all natural boy of 18 months, 12 inches tall, 10 pounds, and microchipped. He's up to date on shots, neutered and is microchipped. He's crate trained and housebroken. Razz-Ma-Tazz was brought into animal control with a severely broken rear right leg that had to be amputated. Razz-Ma-Tazz says he makes up for that with an all natural tail. He has not let this minor handicap slow him down one bit and gets around with no problems. He's pretty calm for a young min pin. He gets along with everyone: dogs, cats, and people of all ages. Razz-Ma-Tazz loves to cuddle and sleep under the blankets with you at night. He's just the sweetest little boy with lots of heart and love.
Tazz's story starts December 2007 with a phone call to me, from a vet tech working at Corpus Christi Animal Control. They had just taken in a little min pin boy, may be 10 months old at the most with a severely broken rear leg. The leg would be amputated. Her problem: she couldn't stand to see Taz recuperate after surgery on the cold cement of a dog run - would IMPS take him? She would nurse him through the first weeks of recovery at her home.
Off I ran to the animal shelter to get this guy, then handed him back over to the vet tech who became an IMPS volunteer. A few weeks later, I was back to see Tazz who was running his brains out on three legs, playing like crazy. Tazz is an all natural boy and seemed to think a good tail made up for any extra leg. He was so happy and upbeat - we couldn't help but think what an excellent example he would make as a therapy dog.
Tazz spent his early foster days with me, until he had healed completely. I could not continue to foster Taz as I had some larger pins (18 inches at the shoulder) and I feared they would hurt Taz in their rough and tumble games, as much as he tried to keep up with them. He was so little! He moved in with our volunteer Lori. Lori's two girls immediately took Tazz into their arms and made him at home. He could not have ended up any place better. Tazz is currently thriving with Lori's own IMPS dog, Lucky, and assorted other other pets that come through Lori's door.
Tazz is still looking for his forever home. We hope soon someone will see how amazing and special this boy is, and allow him to fulfill all the potential we see in him.

Ellie: 4 year old female, 12 inches tall, 11.8 lbs., spayed, up to date on shots, has gone through heartworm treatment and is now healthy and on preventative.
Ellie is an adorable and sweet girl! She needs lots of attention perhaps with a retired couple or stay at home person who will allow her to sleep with them and just cuddle and love on her a lot. She is about four years old and is all up to date on shots. I do suggest that she not be placed with children. I currently have kids age 4 and 16. Ellie does well but would rather have it quiet. This is an extremely sweet and well-mannered dog who was a part of the Foster-to-Adopt program where the participant had opted to adopt when a family member had surgery and needed her to care for her.
Lucky is partially to mostly deaf and has lost one of his eyes, but that does not keep him from being a wonderful family member and full of energy. He gets around just fine, is just as happy as he can be, and just bucks and kicks up and runs around like a puppy. He loves to be cuddled with and petted a lot. He needs and deserves to be very much a part of a family indoors and does very well with the other dogs in my care especially a puppy that has endless energy. They play like they were always brothers. He was completely housetrained in his previous foster home as he has demonstrated for me as well. He gets along very well with everyone including children and cats and just now deserves the good life to be spoiled and made over. Lucky loves cushy warm bedding and lots of blankets to burrow in and will often times be sleeping when everything is going on around him. This is a blessing and quite a change from the hair trigger attention most min pins have - you can't get away moving from one room to the next without them being there. We are very excited to have this adorable little guy in our program and won't stop until we find the perfect forever home for him.

Jojo is a very sweet little girl. She is Heartworm free now after undergoing the treatment, and is also on preventative. She has been spayed and is also microchipped. We can't tell you enough how sweet this little girl is. Jojo has overcome a lot of adversity and has discovered that being a care free dog is a blast. She may have been abused/neglected or both, but wants constant attention. She loves to run and play, not only in the backyard, but also up and down the stairs in the house. She loves to lay on the mat I have laying in the bay window to catch sun rays, or just to watch people walk by. She gets along great with adults and our other dogs. She uses the doggie door and she has not had any accidents inside. She loves to play tug of war, keep away (from the other dogs), and "let's see who I can stalk next". She loves "yum-yums", going bye-bye,and taking walks. She loves her mommy and daddy and Jojo doesn't just wag a tail, she has the whole body wag thing going on when we talk to her. Jojo deserves a quiet home, where someone will be with her most all the time, as she craves your attention all the time. She will make some couple the best companion in the whole world.

Dylan: 2 yr old black & rust male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 14", 18 lb. Shots up-to-date. Found as a stray.
Dylan is a very beautiful boy with tons of personality at 14" at the shoulder and 18 lbs. His soulful eyes will steal the heart of anyone with a heart, and his coat has turned out very satiny silky smooth after a bout with sarcoptic mange when picked up from the shelter. Dylan loves with a passion any time you spend with him either sleeping with him, exercising him, or just loving on him. He is very treat oriented and has learned to sit and down at this point. He is only 2 years old and has tons of puppy left in him. This is one agile boy that can jump baby gates, but he does not not jump the 6½ ft. wood privacy fence at his current foster home. Another foster dog dug out one time, and he crawled out through the hole and came right back in when his foster mom called him - and another time he was waiting right outside the gate. Of course, only a couple minutes had passed - but this appears to be very encouraging that he didn't want to run. Dylan is housebroken as long as an alternative is available such as potty pads or newspapers if left for very long hours. Dylan loves the company of other dogs and is very friendly with them. Like most puppies, he will get in their space occasionally and have to be corrected - but there has been no aggression noted ever in this sweetheart. Dylan loves people as well and is majorly friendly with no fears noted. He has not been tested with children, but we would recommend he go to a home with only older children. He also has not been tested with cats. Dylan would do best in a home where people are very active and would be willing to exercise him often and have a secure yard for him to run and play. He's much bigger than me, but I still need to be the little man in charge. A home with no small children would be best since I bark loudly and it sometimes scares them. Lori is a sweet 10 year old back and rust Min Pin. She is active and happy, she loves to be near her person and is a cuddle bug. She loves everyone. Lori arrived with her life long companion, Leah, but they do not need to be adopted together .
Lori is in excellent health, alert and a fun dog to be around. She is good with other dogs and a bundle of energy but also likes to sit with you. She is a petite girl, at 10 inches tall and 10.5 pounds with the prettiest face around.
So if you want loving playful companion then consider Lori. If you want to provide a wonderful home to a very loving little girl she still has many years ahead of her and she so wants to have her very own forever home.

Leah: 10 yr old red female, spayed, docked tail and uncropped, upright ears. 10", 10.5 lb. Shots up-to-date. Owner give-up.
Leah is a special needs dog. She is lively and playful and loves to be near her person. Leah was born with a condition called Leggs-Perthes Disease which destroys the hip joint. She has already had successful surgery to correct this very painful condition, and that leg is fully recovered with no problem. The other hind knee has developed severe arthritis, so she walks with a limp and is on pain medication daily for it. She will need twice yearly blood tests for checking on the level of medication. Light exercise is good for her, but she needs a home that will be sure she gets her medication and not overstress her knee. Leah is loyal and protective of her family, has a great appetite, is house broken. She has an underbite but has no trouble eating anything, and the vet said there was no concern there. She looks like a tiny red fox and is just as sweet as she can be. She knows how to use a doggie door. If you can give this little lady a home she will repay you with boundless amounts of love. She would be excellent for a retired person or an older person who is home a lot. She just loves to be a lap dog! She is quiet and would do fine in an apartment. She is good with other dogs (and has always had another dog with her), strangers, cats and children. She came into rescue with her sister (see Lori).

Apollo: 1-2 yr old black & rust male, neutered, docked tail and cropped ears. 13", 12 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Apollo is a relatively small, very soft and cuddly little guy. He's between 1-2 years of age, very sweet and full of personality. He loves to be around people and loves to be held and loved on. He is completing at the moment his heartworm treatment and should be ready for adoption around mid-February. This is not a very high energy dog and probably could use to lose a pound, but we would love to find a family where he can be very much a part of the family. It would probably be better if he was in a family with only older children only because we feel that is how he would feel most comfortable. He does enjoy going outdoors for short periods of time, but he really loves to perch on the back of the couch and watch TV with you or just be near you. Dallas: 5 yr old red male, neutered, docked tail and cropped ears. 19", 30-35 lbs. Shots up-to-date. Found as a stray.
Dallas is a very large and very elegant boy. He moves with grace and has a personality matched by few. He probably is part german pinscher because of his his size and build. His nose seems to be more min pin, as a german pinscher has a longer nose. He LOVES to be held but being large, is quite content to be at your side with a loving hand occasionally petting his head. Dallas has the most beautiful eyes and makes unusual eye contact and seems to look right through you. He is housetrained as long as he is not left for very long hours and will use newspapers if he is. He enjoys sleeping with you in your bed, belly rubs, cuddles and love on a dime, and he does love toys. He's very protective of his home and will bark but can be easily corrected with a squirt from a bottle with water. He has not displayed any destructive tendencies and stays in a bedroom while his foster parent works a very long day. He also seems to enjoy an open crate full of cushy bedding as a den and little getaway. Dallas has displayed some fear of certain men but will quickly warm up to those that take the time to make him comfortable with them. He also needs some work on the leash as he will pull, and we are working on that. He does love however going for walks and the outdoors. He will require a fairly high fence for security but has not been observed jumping but he does dig and will need to be completely supervised when in the back yard. He gets along well with his foster siblings as well as the resident cats. He, in fact, was found curled up at the shelter with a cat that had been also turned in. He does however do very well with no other animals and loves nothing better than to quietly hang out with his human in the living room or ride in the car. He is more of a human dog as opposed to a dog's dog. He would be fine in an apartment as long as he was walked/exercized a lot as he is pretty much past the very active puppy stage.
Dallas would make a wonderful addition to any family that has the time to devote to him. He follows basic commands and is willing to learn and please. He has great house manners and really looks forward to making your home, his home.

I get to play with two other min pins and relax in my foster mom and dad's laps whenever I want, but I really need a permanent home where I can be loved for the rest of my life. Here are a few things you may want to know about me: I am 9 years old, black and tan, docked tail, cropped ears, 9 pounds, 11 inches tall, heartworm negative, crate trained, and finally house trained! I am a low key, laid back little fellow that prefers to spend my time curled up on a fluffy pillow, blanket, or comfy lap of a human companion. I like to play with my min pin friends, but can also handle a home where I am the only canine companion. Oscar is an impressive, strong, full of energy, min pin. When it comes to min pin mentally, he lives up to the standard 100% He truly believes that HE is the King of Toys. His foster mom calls him her mountain goat because this boy loves to climb on everything and wants to be in the highest place in the room. His favorite spot is on the back of the couch, relaxing with the cat and gazing out the window. He is a very good watch dog and is always on guard. Oscar loves to go for walks, car rides, and boss the other dogs. Oscar does resource guard and this is something that we are working on and he is showing improvements. His perfect home would be with someone who can continue to work with him and has the patience to do so. He loves to be outside to play and sunbath, so someone who also likes the outdoors would be a perfect match. "Hi my name is Minnie. My foster dad calls me Minnie Me when we are playing. I am an 8 year old girl who weighs 13 pounds and stands 12-inches tall. I am just learning this thing called "play" as this is a new concept for me. My early life was one filled with isolation and neglect and uncertainty. Until I came to IMPS, I never felt wanted or appreciated. I was ignored and the only words directed at me were ones that were harsh and cold and mean. I was eventually abandoned on the streets and left to my own devices until I was eventually picked up by the shelter and taken to their facility. Someone there recognized my potential and they housed me, spayed me, and cared for me for almost 7 months. They contacted the kind folks at IMPS and let them know about me. IMPS rescued me and the most wonderful thing happened....I was shown love and affection for the first time in my life. I know what it is like to hear a kind word and feel a reassuring pat on my head and it feels GREAT!!!!! Every day I feel more at ease and come out of my shell a little more. I am ready to love my new family once they find me. My hard life has given me some pre-mature gray hairs around my muzzle but that is just hair color....As my dad says...at least I still have hair (he doesn't have much). I would do great with any family that wants a quiet loving dog who has one simple requirement.....just let me be with you and show you how much I can love. The Flintstones themed puppies were rescued at 10 weeks of age with severe sarcoptic mange all gone now. The two biggest in the beginning were Fred and Barney, but now Fred, Barney and Gazoo are all 8+ lbs. and Pebbles is very close to 8 lbs. now. They have had all 3 sets of puppy shots and now just need to be microchipped/neutered or spayed. These puppies have been nothing but a lot of joy and a laugh a minute with all their puppy antics.
Update: The only Flintstone puppy left is Fred. Poor guy, all his siblings left him. So please consider adoptinng Fred!
Fred: 4 months old, black and tan Male with natural ears and cropped tail.
Fred is a very sweet boy that loves lots of cuddles and love and has developed into one of my most active - center of action boys. He loves toys, cuddling with his human and just running around the yard. He loves to play hard with the other pups and loves to get lots of reassurance and then set back off to play!

We feel like when we release them outside, we are releasing Thing #1 and Thing #2.....and of course Thing #3 and #4 from the Cat in the Hat. These pups have been treated for mange and their healthy coats have come back in. Housetraining has begun and coming along nicely and they are currently penned when their foster parent is away. They generally go potty on papers when not outside and are doing very well with both. These little guys are too much fun, but lots of work. We need people that are puppy savvy and have a lot of tolerance for them while they learn all about the world that hopefully just keeps getting better and better for them. If you are looking for the joy (and work) of raising a puppy into an adult and are committed to training them to be the best they can be, please put in an application of one of these Flintstones characters. Bentley: Approx 5 yr old black & rust male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 9", 8 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Bentley was found wandering around in Ft Worth .. no collar ..no tags. He was very thin, really hungry, and scared half to death. A very nice man picked him up and took him home. Bentley ate every single bite of dog food put in front of him, went outside to potty and pee, and then just wanted to curl up next to any caring person available. His rescuer had a wife and small child and new baby and just couldn't keep him. So they posted fliers in their area, contacted shelters, vets within 10 miles. No one was looking for this little minpin. So they contacted IMPS because they were afraid if they took him to the shelter he might be euthanized. And they were right, because when I picked him up and took him to my vet -- we discovered that he had heartworms. But he has been successfully treated for that, and Bentley has been neutered and microchipped ... and he can't wait for his forever home.
He will be very happy as the only dog in the house, although he will get along with a calm dog. His priority is a loving lap and being able to sleep right next to you at night....and some toys that squeak for playtime with you. Oh yes, and lots of walks. He's a perfect dog for an apartment situation because he's not a barker.

Roland: 1.5 yr old black & tan male, neutered, undocked tail and uncropped ears. 14", 12 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Roland is a very leggy, outgoing and friendly all natural boy that is truly beautiful and just beyond sweet. Even though he is over a year old, he's still very much a puppy in that he loves to run FAST (as fast as a greyhound) and loves toys and to play with other dogs. He loves to play with the boxer at his foster home. Roland came into care with a healed broken leg that was already calcifying. A "re-break" was not an option. So we waited to see how things would go with a complete healing. He only has a slight limp when he first wakes in the morning from being stiff and after running hard...but again very slight. He is taking daily supplements to keep his joints healthy, and he appears to get around better actually than any of the other dogs in his foster home. As a matter of fact, he can effortlessly jump baby gates....so very agile. Roland gets along with all other dogs, children, adults and loves belly rubs. He sleeps in a crate but would love to sleep with his adopter someday and is housebroken. He needs a family that understands puppy behavior and has lots of energy to keep up with this beautiful boy with another dog to play with that has like energy and either a yard or just someone that would exercise multiple times a day with him if in an apartment. We don't think he would do well with a chain link fence seeing he is such a great jumper. His foster mom is willing to provide a years supply of the supplements she is giving him because she believes it is so good for him and his leg. This is a great dog and deserves a great forever family!

"I was initially turned in by my owner due to a divorce. She was very upset to leave me, but she knew it was best for me. I love to be held and sleep in bed with you. I like other dogs. I will dance for my dinner. I am crate trained but my new foster mommy has never had to crate me. I am a spry 7 year old loving sweetie pie. I really need someone who wants a loving companion and is patient while I adjust to my new home. I have tons of love to give that special someone. I love to play in the garden hose or the sprinkler my foster Mommy say's I have a bit of OCD when it comes to playing in the water but she says it is cute as can be too. I love to play fetch with the squeaky toys. I can sit when you ask but prefer to dance for my treats. I get really excited when it is treat time. I am a good eater and will finish my meals like a champ. I just need a family that wants a dog that is affectionate and a true companion. I want to know I am loved and will return that love many times over and then some! I am a bit needy, but all this shuffling around is really making me a bit insecure. I have now been with my foster family for several months and am not as needy but still love to show how sweet I am and snuggle with you. Will you be the one to love me with all your heart? Hombre: 3 yr old chocolate/tan male, to be neutered in a week, undocked tail and uncropped ears. 7", 6 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Hombre is a wonderful little companion who just lives to please. He's small and compact and would make a great dog for either an apartment or home with a yard. He's not a barker and his favorite thing in the world is to keep your lap warm.
Hombre's perfect home would include a couple of older children to call his very own. He's been around children, ages 6 and 10 and did well with them. He is good around the resident cat and his foster brothers and sisters so an extended family of critters is also very acceptable.
He has a scar on his lower spine that is now healed and gives him character. We're not sure how Hombre was injured, but it causes him no discomfort. This is a sign of his life past, and now he's ready to start a new life where he can love and be loved.

This is a total love of a dog. Nothing bothers him, he is a good eater and gets along with all the other dogs, girls and boys. He's great with people of all ages. He was neutered on 8/21/2009. Jasmine (Jazzy) is a very affectionate dog, she has lost her home twice through no fault of her own. She loves kids and will play for hours with them, she has lived with children as young as 1 year. Jazzy has never threatened to bite under any circumstances. She play growls but that is what she is doing...playing. She loves to be near her people and the more attention she gets the happier she is. She loves walks, car rides and mostly to be loved by you. Dexter: Meet our man, Dexter. Dex is a whimsical little guy with his own sense of style - he sports a "Mohawk going down his neck from where the hair meets. He is 13 inches tall, 10 lbs, approximately 4 years old, and all legs and personality.
Dex is looking for the right lady...he has a marked preference for women and becomes depressed and withdrawn if men are his only source of company. With women, he's all smiles and attention, and ready to play. With men - sorry guys, he could care less. He will warm up to you and be friendly, but only if his primary care giver is a woman.
Dexter came into rescue after a cruelty case confiscation. He was painfully thin, had several broken teeth and an eyelid that needed repairing. He was either kicked in the face or possibly on the wrong end of dog fight. But in spite of all this, he's a friendly, loving, happy boy - very bright and eager to learn, and oh such a lover! He gets along with other dogs and loves to play, and is ready to go with you at the drop of a hat.
He's doing well in learning his manners on a leash and basic commands. This is very important as he loves to go with you and any time the door is opened, its an opportunity for him to run out it. He doesn't go far, but its a dangerous habit that many min pins have.
He needs a mom with a sense of humor and an understanding of dogs.
Our boy is up to date on shots, Heartworm negative and on prevention, neutered, and ready for his new home.

Georgia: 5-6 yr old adorable black & tan female, docked tail and uncropped ears. 14". Rescued from shelter.
This great little gal is playful, but not over the top, loves to go for walks (and walks nicely!), and is very affectionate. She will be subdued when she first meets you, but will also sit on your lap, and be next to you all the time, then wake you up with face rubs and smiles. She likes to rough house a bit. An only dog? No problem. Have another dog? No problem. Got a cat? No problem.
She looks you in the face and waits for your smile, and you won't be able to keep yourself from smiling back when you see that sweet face of hers. Georgia is just a lovely girl, inside and out. She will give you her whole heart if you will let her.
Georgia is housebroken, doesn't chew inappropriately, and if you don't get the message right away that she needs something, she will jump in your lap, give you a full Georgia hug and rub her face against yours. Really one of my very favorite fosters ever. All she needs from you is love, time, commitment, and bedtime biscuits.

Kasey: apx 2 yrs old black rust male - 11" tall, 11.5 lbs, docked tail, natural ears.
Kasey was found as a stray in Dallas TX with no collar, no tag, no chip, no way to find his way home, and someone who found him was nice enough to take him to the shelter. He tested positive for heart worms, had a real bad sore on his foot, and unfortunately had to be tagged for euthanasia. The wonderful shelter people sent us his info and gave us 24 hrs to get him. Well, he's safe now and after a trip to the vet and some antibiotics and ointments (which he pretty much hated having applied to that inflammed and swollen foot!) he's feeling much better. Another month, and his heartworm treatments will be completed too.

Kyra is one sweet little girl who has the prettiest face and is just precious! We just picked her up yesterday, and the first thing she did when I picked her up is put her head on my shoulder - what a little sweetie! Her natural ears and tail add to her character. This morning we went to the vet and she got her first puppy shots being as she is maybe 5 months old, had a fecal and heartworm test of which both were negative. She IS too thin and is eating ravenously, so the meager 9 lbs. should probably end up being 10-11 lbs. The vet noted no health issues at all, and we are due for the 2nd set of shots on 11/24/09. If she could talk, she would be asking for a loving family that is stable and would give her the stability, comfort, love and affection....and of course be willing to train her to make her the best that she can be. "Hello, my name is Daisy. I am a dark chocolate brown min pin standing 13 inches tall and weighing 11 pounds. I have natural ears that stand up and a docked tail. I am a tall lanky girl. I am a beautiful dark brown color except for one white foot. I am very loving and affectionate. I just love to play and to snuggle. My buddy Digger and I belonged to the same owner but had to go to the shelter when our parents lost their home due to bad times. We were so scared. Luckily they let us stay in the same cage together. When no one came to adopt us, we were on our way to be put to sleep when the nice people from IMPS came in and rescued us. Boy, that was too close for comfort. We smelled badly and were scared and unsure of where we belonged. The nice lady from IMPS took us and bathed us and loved on us and we felt so much better. My buddy Digger was adopted by a very nice man, but I am still waiting on that perfect home. I love to play with other dogs or I am happy to be in the company of people. I am comfortable in the crate and can stay in it all day with no accidents. I am full of love and affection and you will never regret the day you opened your home and your heart to me. Pistol is a sweet and friendly boy who's special place is right in the middle of your lap. He's loving and loyal and still displays a lot of puppy energy. "Hey ya'll I'm Chuck, and I've come into care with a new foster mama that LOVES me!!! She can't quit playing and lovin on me because I'm totally handsome and know how to work it :) In fact, everyone everywhere loves me and we are on a first name basis wherever I go cuz I got that thing called charisma. I'm 7-8 years old with lotsa puppy and play in me.....but I don't have the behaviors that you might get with a youngun like chewing, peeing inappropriately, and just causin havoc. I'm just all kinds of fun without the destruction and have a swagger when I walk and do lots of running too even at my age. I'm heartworm and worm free and someone musta loved me at one point because they even got my teeth cleaned recently and am now microchipped and totally vetted for the year. "Hello. Thank you so much for checking out my profile. My name is Allie. I am a beautiful red girl, 11 inches tall, and 15 pounds (I am a chunky monkey but am on a strict diet and expect to be down to 10 pounds very quickly). I have a docked tail and natural ears and very bright inquisitive eyes. I am 6 years old and full or life and personality. I am more fortunate than most rescue dogs because I have never been in a shelter and have never known life on the street. I was part of a loving and happy home. I have been through obedience training and was top of my class. I am house broken and crate trained and I know several tricks. The sad part about my story is that my Mom and Dad were forced to move and they were not allowed to take me with them. They tried to find a home for me up to the very day they had to leave and only then were they force to give me to the IMPS people. They cried and cried and cried because they were so sad. I was their little girl and we all loved each other very much. I understand they wanted to take me with them but couldn't and I will be sad as I will miss them a lot. But things happen in life that are beyond our control. So now I am looking for a new home....maybe, a home like yours. I am a very loyal and dedicated girl. I am brave too. I even protected my owner from getting mauled by a big dog a while back. The big mean dog was going for my owner and I threw myself in its path to protect my owner. The big dog grabbed me and tore me up pretty bad. My owners were so grateful to me that they took me to the vet and spent a lot of money to have me fixed up. I am back to normal now (except for a few battle scars) and ready for love. If you adopt me, you can bet I will always protect you too. That is how I am. Justin: 9 yr old black & rust male, neutered, docked tail and cropped ears. 7", 7 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
This is Justin - a tiny minpin with an absolutely huge and loveable personality. Anyone that meets Justin just can't help but fall in love with him. This little man is very personable and quite agile for his age. He has had an extensive dental and is now neutered and up to date on all his vaccines. He eats soaked quality kibble with a little canned mixed in twice a day. He doesn't have a lot of 'chewing' surfaces left, so will need some help in that department, but it was so worth it to get rid of all that nasty infection in his mouth.
Justin has never met a stranger and even shows the resident house cat great respect. Of course, the cat outweighs him by about 5 pounds so that may well be the incentive there. He does well with all of his foster brothers and sisters. Justin likes to loll the day away sleeping deep inside the covers of a plush dog bed. At night, be prepared to answer the demands of this little fellow as you prepare to go to bed. He loves to snuggle down next to his favorite person and dream sweet dreams of his day with his human. He absolutely needs an adopter who will oblige this one little request.
Justin's perfect home would be one with an older couple with a quiet, low key home, who would love to have a little boy sit on their lap most of the day. He would prefer a home with children over the age of 12, because this little fellow is quite small and wouldn't take well to being stepped on or being dropped. "Hi! My name is Ode De Bleu but my friends just call me Odie. My foster mom says I'm a pretty special little boy because I'm a bonafide Blue Minpin. I'm also a very beautiful little boy with an absolutely delightful personality. My ears and tail are nicely cropped and docked and I can prance like no other minpin you've ever seen. I also exhibit a very endearing quality by rubbing against your legs, much like a cat would do. I LOVE toys and I promise I won't tear them up. I will, however, love them and play with them providing you with hours of smiles and giggles.
I'm pretty much house trained, however, you will see in my pictures I'm wearing a belly band. This is just a reminder for when my mom isn't watching that I need to be sure to go outside when nature calls. I do not do a lot of barking, but when I do, I have a low, "big dog" bark. I have some hair-loss down my back, but that is growing in nicely and I expect that with good food and lots of Stress-free fun, I will have a complete coat grown in in a very short time. All my blood tests have come back normal, so the hair-loss is just from stress and lack of good nutrition.I was rescued from the Shelter because of the unfortunate closing down of a local rescue. I've been through a lot lately but that hasn't broken my spirit; I'm still a puppy at heart. My perfect home would be with a family with older children who love to play and cuddle and will be kind to me. I have so much love in my little heart left to give someone. Look at my beautiful eyes. Diesel: 2 year old black and rust male, neutered, docked tail and cropped ears. 17lbs. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Diesel is a handsome, strong, high-energy boy who loves to play with anyone or anything. Diesel was found wandering the streets in Red Oak, TX. He was then transferred to the Tri-City Animal Shelter where IMPS rescued him. When he came in to rescue he was heartworm positive, but he made it through the treatment with flying colors and is now a healthy boy. Although Diesel is an energetic player, he has a very sweet and affectionate side also. He loves to cuddle up next to you and lay his head on your shoulder, just before letting out a big sigh. Diesel does best with female dogs, but would probably be perfectly happy being an only dog as long as he had a loving daddy and/or mommy to lavish attention on him.

Sparkle: 10 yr old black & rust female, spayed, docked tail and natural standing ears. 12", 15 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Rainbow Sparkle is a wonderful older girl with a great and loving personality. She is the perfect example of a typical Miniature Pinscher. Her stature is regal and her temperament is calm. Sparkle is considered a senior, but is far from old. She loves to play and run and more importantly, enjoys down time with her favorite human. Sparkle's ideal home would be one without young children as she can be a bit grumpy when being pushed and pulled. It is believed that she came from a domestic violence situation and tends to be reactive when there is an alteracation within the household. She's beautifully crate trained and doesn't mind spending her time away from you in her special place. We are still working on potty issues, but she understands where she's suppose to tend to her bathroom duties.
Sparkle gets along with most of her foster siblings, but she tends to be alpha and does better with males than females. She shares her home now with both genders, but can be a bit pushy if another alpha female crosses her path. Sparkle is almost through heart worm treament and will be ready for adoption by the beginning of March. She will need someone who is minpin savvy and will be patient and tolerant during her adjustment period. She's a wonderful little girl who's had a rough life and now wants someone to love and who will love her. As you can see, LeviBleu is a very special little boy. He's come from a breeder that no longer found him useful, and is now looking for a home where people are kind and loving. To say he's beautiful is an understatement; this boy is stunning. He appears to be housebroken and asks to go outside. Levi tends to be a little intimidated when his person walks up to him, but smiles all over himself once you pick him up and give him the love he's missed out on for the majority of his life. His estimated age is debatable as he shows no aches and pains and no grey in his muzzle. Levi is such a good boy and would be a wonderful addition to the right family. She will bark atthe cat and would prefer a home that didn't have one, however, she is not going to hurt one. Sophie doesn't have a mean bone in her little seven pound body. "Hi everyone!!! I'm Binky (until my new forever human gives me a much more suitable name)! I'll be 2 year old in April, I'm neutered, 13" tall, and weigh in at 10.5 pounds. I am a very handsome black and rust boy with natural ears and a docked tail. The people who took me to live with them when I was a baby brought a Cocker Spaniel to live in our home and he didn't like me at all!! He started fights all the time. It was very scary! I guess my family liked the Cocker better, but then this really nice lady scooped me up and took me to live with her and her 2 other Min Pins! OH MY, life was suddenly so much fun!!! I had toys and foster siblings (that liked me) to play with and a really nice foster mommy!!! We went to the vet and he said I was "perfect"!!! I'm healthy, no heartworms, I take heartworm preventive, I'm micro chipped, and I eat all my meals like a champ. I go outside to potty and get to stay inside all day while my mom is at work. She says I'm very good cause I don't have accidents in the house! I love to play with toys and tease my roommates by running through the house with a toy in my mouth; hoping one of them will chase me. My favorite toy is a small tennis ball. I will play ball as long as someone will throw it! I like tug-of-war too!
I get along very well with dog as well as human friends as I proved when we went to the dog park!! I got to run and run and run. I even found a new friend that looked just like me only he was GIANT (Mom called him a Dobie)! At first he chased me, then he ran with me a lot, then he got tired and had to lie down and rest! I guess playing is hard for the big guys! We go for walks a lot and my mom says that makes me a better dog. She is teaching me that I don't need to bark at the other dogs when we meet them on our walks. Mom also says I've calmed down a lot. She says it's because we take our walks and that I'm not in a crate all day anymore. I do have a crate, though, and I love it. She always leaves the door open and I probably sleep in there more than anywhere else because I have nice blankets to snuggle under. My roommates sleep with Mom and I do too sometimes, but I prefer my own space most of the time. She gives me the choice. Mom is a soldier (I don't know what that is but I think it's very important) and is being sent to work somewhere else and can't take all three of us. So, I'm looking for a forever home!
I'm just a great guy! I am, however, a Min Pin and need to have rules that I am expected to follow, a very secure backyard fence (or daily walks), and should NEVER to be trusted with an open door or without a leash if there isn't a fence. I am a black and tan guy standing 11-inches tall and I weigh 17 pounds. I have short stubby legs and am thick but not overweight. My tail is docked but my ears are natural. I love to play and wrestle with my foster Dad but pretty much leave the other dogs alone. I don't bark or chew and I am house-broken and crate-trained. I really miss my owner. It was just her and me and then one day she didn't wake up and I was taken to the shelter. The shelter was scary and no one came to get me and they were going to put me down when the nice people from IMPS came and rescued me. I feel so safe now but its still not the same as having my very own home with an owner that is mine and mine alone. "Hi I'm Stitch! When my fosters got me, they thought I was a puppy because I have lots of energy and love to play - boy were they surprised to find out I'm 6 years old! They call me Stitch because I have strips of hair missing along my back and on the side of my body, The vet thinks that it is from a past acid burn and from a staff infection, but it sure doesn't bother me I'm a typical min pin with lots of energy and a need to explore, so you have to be very careful with doors to the outside and I need to be on a leash or in a secure fence outdoors. Even with all my energy, I'm a real cuddle bug and I love to give kisses! The foster family I'm staying with has 3 other min pins I love to play with, and an 18 month old baby that I don't really mind - I like to clean up the food under her highchair! I'm fully vetted, neutered, and also microchipped. I'm fully housebroken, but like lots of min pins I sometimes want to mark my territory if I'm in a new place. My fosters used a belly band to teach me not to mark in their house. I can't wait to find my forever home!"

"Hi - I'm Frankie! I'm a sweet little lap dog that likes just about everyone I meet! I'm really good with kids and other animals. Penny: is a black/rust female with natural ears and tail. She is 8" tall and weighs about 7 pounds. She is heart worm negative, utd on shots, now on heart worm preventive. She is about 1½ years old, and the vet says she is very healthy.
"Hi! I'm Penny! I feel that I'm a very lucky little girl as my family moved somewhere and just left me in my backyard while I watched them drive away. I was so scared and alone! A nice lady saw what happened and took me to her nice warm house. There was a small human at her house that was very wild and scared me a lot because almost everything was scaring me at that point. Now, I'm at a really great house! There are people that are so nice to me (I'm not used to that) and other dogs for me to play with and they really like me a lot! I especially like Gunther!! He and I play and play. Of course, then I have to rest because I'm young and I never know when to stop playing. I'm quite smart! I know how to use the dog door, I don't have accidents, and I come when I'm called most of the time. I love to sleep with my people and snuggle under the covers. My foster mom says I'm a very good eater and that I am already looking so much better. They think I was skinny. I don't know what that is but I don't think I'm supposed to be skinny. I have a new sweater to wear which I love as it keeps me so warm and makes me feel special. One of my new humans calls me her shadow . . . I follow her everywhere because she is so nice to me! I like the men as well as the women, because here all are so nice to me. I am very good with children, even infants as long as you watch them, if they don't hurt or scare me, I do not bother them. Here I have a 2 year old and a 9 month old that I am with.

Harley has been sheltered and reacts to all new noises with barking a little more than he should, but will stop once corrected. He also has separation anxiety. Since he was raised by someone who stayed home all day, he has a hard time being left. He is very loving, likes to sleep with mom. He wants to be with you all day long, he is under my desk in his basket, content. Harley plays well with my other min pins, but is a little fearful of large dogs. He was raised with a cat. We would not adopt him to a family with children.

Prince: 6 yr old red male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 9", 5.5 lb. Rescued from shelter.
Prince is looking for a seeing-eye-person: Prince has dry eye, which has limited his vision. He will require eye drops and gel every day for the remainder of his life. It would be awesome if he found a home where he was alone for no more than 4 hours a day, so that his eyes can be kept moist with drops. But this is not a requirement. He is good about taking his medicine each day. These meds are about $75 per month. Because of this medical condition, he sees mostly shadows and he will back up from quick moves. Prince is shy at first and must be approached slowly to get your scent. He is doing well with the 2 female dogs he is currently living with. Prince never learned how to give kisses, so he will gnaw on you to show affection. He should not be with small children who are clumsy and move quickly. Prince does get scared and defensive if he is unsure what you are going to do. If left to his own devices, he would be awake only to eat and go on walks - he loves to nap all day long, especially next to you or on your lap. He loves to sleep with his person under the covers at night. He is mostly housetrained, although the 30 inches of snow outside have set Prince back. If you weighed under 6 lbs and walked around barefoot, you wouldn't want to be out in the snow for very long either!

Pan: 18-24 mth old red male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 11", 9 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Pan is a very shy young man. He came from an overcrowded situation in Dallas and is now trying to find his way in his foster home. He is beginning to understand that he should go outside for the bathroom, but only give a very short notice before he defaults to the puppy pads. He hits the pads the majority of the time. He has decided if I leave clothes on the floor it is preferable to the pad. He is very unsure of men. He has settled in well with his foster mom and tolerates his foster dad as long as he moves slowly and do not try to approach him. With a patient man and a lot of time he will get over it. He is not aggressive, just runs away and barks. Very inquisitive dog. Sleeps with us but on the opposite side of Lisa from me. Gets along great with the other dogs (all sizes). Plays for as long as they are willing to play. Does mark outside, but not inside.

How about a tall drink of chocolate milk? Meet Dane, he is a wonderful boy. 2 years old, cropped ears and docked tail, neutered and up to date on all shots. He is taller than most MinPins, very lean, weighs 12-14 pounds and stands 14 inches. Dane is house broken, crate trained and good with all people and dogs. Dane does not like to be left alone (he will whimper) , so another dog in the house is good, or someone who is home most of the time. Dane is still a puppy as he likes to run, play and bounce around. Dane can jump very high, a fenced in yard is ideal for this boy, as well as no gaps where he can dig out. Dane walks great on a harness leash and loves to meet new people while on his daily walks. He is a very smart boy, loves to ride in the car and be with his humans. He snuggles, and must have his own blanket to sleep in, as he will bundle himself up inside and take a nap. "Hello, my name is Brock! As you can see, I am a handsome, healthy young dog!"
If you would like a young companion with a quirky personality, keeping you in stitches, this might be the dog you are dreaming of. Brock is housetrained and crate trained, leash trained and learns quickly. Brock knows basic commands but will benefit immensely from a formal obedience class where he can bond with his new owner.
Brock is a great dog for apartment living, as he takes up little space and is small and clean. He hardly sheds and his coat is a striking Stag Red, the color of the original Reh Pinscher, from Germany. Brock is good to go nearly everywhere and makes a compact little traveling companion. While we don't recommend him for small children, he gets along well with older children and other dogs. He would be happiest being an only dog in a home with experienced dog owners, especially terrier or min pin owners. He loves the one on one attention. It has taken a long time for him to come out of his shell and become affectionate in his foster home, so his new home should be patient with him and give him the time he needs to feel secure in new surroundings. How do I begin to describe Ama (Ah-mah)? When we first took her into foster care almost two years ago she was a completely different dog than she is now. She was terrified of absolutely everything. Now, with the exception of being a little more nervous than other dogs, people who meet her have no idea and can't even believe that she was a mill dog. She spent the first 6 years of her life in a cage and the last 2 years she has learned all about being a loved pet and living in a home. She loves going on rides, going for walks, and she would jump through a flaming hoop just to get under blanket on your lap. She will most likely always be a skittish dog, but she has a huge heart and has lots of love to give. She just needs to find someone who will give her a chance. Someone who is patient and nurturing. Being apart of Ama's life is very rewarding. Whomever decides to open up their heart to her will feel the same.

Lucy is a tiny girl with a big heart! Lucy is a black and tan min pin with docked tail and the most adorable floppy natural ears. One look at her and she melts your heart. Lucy spent her first seven years giving birth to litter upon litter of puppies in a puppy mill. She has been in IMPS foster homes for a year and a half and has come so far with trusting people again. She is more shy than your average min pin, but can lead a very happy and healthy life in a home that understands her. She will need a little bit more time to warm up to people, but she loves her people. She will need to wear two leashes when out on walks in case she gets spooked, but she enjoys going on walks. Doorways require a little extra patience but what waits on the other side is worth it. She likes to play and finds comfort in having other dogs around even if they don't play with her. She is quiet, good with cats, housebroken, and just wants a home and family to call her own. Homes with a fenced in yard and at least one doggie companion are preferred. Please come meet this girl (warning - if you meet her you will want to take her home immediately but application process still applies ;)!

May May - "ADOPTION PENDING": 13 month old black & tan female, spayed, undocked tail and uncropped ears, 12", 7.5lb, owner give-up
May May is a happy, healthy 13 month old! Everyone who meets her thinks she is adorable! After about 5 minutes with her you learn how feisty she is - full of energy, LOVES her people (and you become one of her people after she knows you for about 15 minutes and has a chance to sit on your lap), and LOVES to run! We take her to the dog park mostly for our entertainment (okay, her's too)- she'll find a dog to run with, big or small, and make them chase her and she weaves in and out and left and right just tearing around at high speed. Then she cuddles - she loves to give kisses, she does this cute thing where she rolls on her back and gently paws at you and sort of wipes her face with her paws, she gets all wiggly and excited when she sees you, and she loves to sleep under the covers. She is a young still so her forever family will have to continue to work on potty training a little (she doesn't have accidents if we stay on top of taking her out, go out with her, give her plenty of time to go to the bathroom, and we know where she is in the house at all times), she barks at strangers so she needs owners who will work on this and also continue to socialize her so she's not so unsure (she learns quickly), and she picks up papers/leaves/socks/etc. around the house rarely when she's bored but is quickly distracted and really prefers her chew toys. Her forever home must have another playful dog because May May loves her foster brothers and her friends at doggie daycare so much and gets anxious without another dog there (might we suggest a dual adoption with Spencer - they love each other!). She has a lot of energy but this can be managed with a brief daily walk and 3-4 hard playing sessions a week (dog park, doggie daycare, super long walks). Please ask to meet this little girl ASAP!

Corby: 2 yr old red male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 8-10 lb. Rescued from shelter.
Corby came to us from a shelter. His owners were moving and didn't want to take him with. he was neutered, micro-chipped, baby tooth removed and given all his shots so he is all set!
He would need to go to a home with a woman because he prefers them but does get along with the man of the house if he has to! NO small children but he does ok with children that are experienced with dogs. he doesn't like a lot of grabbing. he would love to find an owner that will work with him and not encourage some of his bad behaviors. he needs work on his potty training but is coming along with that nicely but still has accidents. he is getting better but very stubborn! he is lap possessive but coming along very nicely with that as well. he is also working on his nervousness when new people come over. he tends to charge and nip so this is also being worked on. he does get a long with my other dogs. he is a very loving snuggly little guy and very easy to fall in love with. he needs someone to give him love and attention but also the tough love to not baby too much. if you cater to him and let him be boss; this will encourage him and his bad behavior to escalate. he can be a little nippy and gets scared really easily and this is why his behavior needs to be worked on and not encouraged. he is a very stubborn little guy and needs a lot of training to keep him on the right track to being a well-rounded dog. please only apply if you are serious and understand his issues need to be worked on. he is a joy to have around and has so much love and kisses to give and laps to invade!

Sassy lives up to her name! She is tiny and sassy but gets along with all our min pins, young and old alike. She particularly likes male min pins but she would be just as happy to be the only dog in the home. She loves her humans and enjoys sleeping in bed with them - she tends to sleep at the foot of the bed right next to your feet, buried in the covers, coming up for air throughout the night like a beached fish (it's adorable!). She does guard her favorite things (toys, rawhides, treat balls) occasionally but can also eat sitting next to her foster sister. She absolutely loves toys and will toss a toy around for hours playing and entertaining herself. She will follow you all around the house and would be wonderful in a home where she will be loved and nurtured the remaining years of her life. There's a lot of life in this feisty lady and she's ready to share it with you! Please have a heart for an older lady and ask to meet Sassy!

Lucky: 14-16 yr old black & tan male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 14", 10 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Lucky is a distinguished senior male approximately 14-16 years old. Lucky was rescued from Animal Control in November 2009 on his "last" day. His foster mom picked him up and realized right away that he was not the 8 years he was described as by the shelter. She of course took him home but stopped at the vet first as Lucky had a bad case of kennel cough and issues walking on his back legs. Lucky was given medicine that cured his cough but was given a diagnoses that would not fix his back legs. Lucky has degenerative disk disease in his lower back probably from an injury earlier in life that was neglected by a previous owner. If one had to describe Lucky in one word other than being "lucky", is neglected. When he came to his foster home he was very underweight and scared. He has put on some weight and now takes medicine daily to help the function in back legs. He has a spring back into his step and loves all the attention he gets from his foster mom and dad. Lucky's condition will never go away but he doesn't let it get him down. He will always have good and bad days and with the medication he will hopefully have more good than bad. He is comfortable and has little pain. He eats a high calorie diet that helps not only with his weight gain but his energy as well. He loves to play with his mini- tennis balls and his stuffed dog. His foster mom gets tired before he does of playing ball. He does still get scared around new people especially males and will show his teeth to scare them away. His foster parents can pick him up with no problems but new people must move very slowly or wait for Luck to warm up to them. Once Lucky warms up to you and trusts that you wont hurt him he is a very love-able guy. He loves being held or allowed to sit on your lap under a blanket of course. We don't know how many years, months, or days Lucky has left but we do know he has desire to live and be loved. He is a very good boy and even though he has neurological issues has very few accidents in the house. He will need to continue to take his medication for the rest of his days but it is fairly inexpensive. If you have a place for a dog that just wants to live out his days being loved and assured than Lucky could be that dog for you.

Poncho: 1-2 yr old black & tan male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 15", 15 lb. Shots up-to-date. Rescued from shelter.
Poncho is adorable Min Pin that is about 3 years old. He's not your typical, active min pin and is much quieter and laid back them most. Poncho's greatest joy is to be with his person. He weighs 14 pounds, gets along fine with other dogs his size and energy level but would also be fine as an only dog with a companion that has a lot of time for him. Poncho is shy in new situations and is currently in a basic obedience class to build his confidence and help with this. He's a very sweet boy that also does well on housetraining when managed with frequent trips outside and crate training. Poncho is located in southern WI and his ideal home has someone not gone real long hours as he CRAVES to be with you and would be unhappy left for long hours. That's his main need in life and greatest source of enjoyment. He can be pretty needy in a good way. He likes companionship better then toys or anything else in his world. Poncho is a sweet boy waiting for a lap to call his own.

Ever have one of those days?? A day where nothing goes your way? Sometimes it's a whole week....or if you are really unfortunate a whole month! The dogs listed below have experienced few highs and many lows in the last few months and they're all looking for a break. Let me tell you a little about their story....
The following dogs were rescued from a seriously overcrowded private rescue in Texas. They were held for several weeks at Dallas's animal control facility without treatment until they were released to IMPS. They were transported up to Wisconsin the end of December and are now safe and warm in foster homes throughout Wisconsin. Each has been to the vet, tested negative for heart worm, vaccinated for rabies & bordetella, spayed/neutered, micro chipped, and treated for any other ailments they may have had. LaMesa is a very playful little girl. So far she loves playing with us, our dogs, and our dog friendly cat. Due to the conditions she was kept in we are working on her potty training. She is a very sweet, friendly, fun loving girl who has made her way all the way from Texas to Wisconsin to find her forever home.

Seguin: 3 yr old chocolate/tan female, docked tail and uncropped ears. 10.5", 7.5 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Laredo: 3-5 yr old chocolate/tan male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 10.5", 5.5 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Seguin and Laredo are not brother and sister by blood but they are by circumstance. They were both taken from a situation where one person had WAY TOO many dogs. They came to Wisconsin all the way from Dallas, TX. They are great little dogs. CUTE AS CAN BE!! They are very fond of each other. Both are silly and have their own personalities but at the same time they are two peas in a pod. Both can be very shy at first but do warm up over time. They are looking for a very patient owner with a big heart and enough love for both of them. They are both crate trained and are working on potty training. As long as they are let out often they have very few accidents. THEY MUST GO TO SOMEONE WITH A FENCED IN YARD. They will do best in a home with NO CHILDREN. Possibly an older person, empty nesters, or a couple who only wants fur babies. They need someone who will love them the rest of their days... good or bad and have the financial means to take care of both of them. They have been through a lot together and they deserve a future full of love & happiness.

Kingston: 3 yr old red male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 11". Shots up-to-date.
Kingston is 3 year old red male that weighs approximately 8 pounds. He truly is the "King of Toys" as min pins are often referred to. He is a very handsome young dog and he knows it! He holds his head proud and tries to manipulate is foster mom and dad with his cuteness.He instantly wins the heart of anyone who meets him. Kingston is named after the city near Dallas TX where he came from. Kingston made the long journey from Texas to Minnesota then to his foster home in Fond du Lac shortly after Christmas. Despite what Kingston has been through he has few health or social issues. Kingston has a slight eye infection and very dirty teeth but both will be taken care of before he makes his journey to his forever home. Neither issue will have lasting effects on this handsome guy. Kingston loves playing with his other foster brothers and sisters and absolutely adores any toy that makes noise. He becomes obsessed. Finally a toy of his very own! He loves to be held by everyone that comes to "his" home. Everyone wants to hold Kingston! Kingston will continue to need training as he has lots of energy and is super intelligent. His foster mom and dad are working with him on house training but the COLD Wisconsin winter is slowing him down. He goes outside but wants to run right back in. He will need someone that is patient while he continues his house training especially on very cold snowy days. Kingston would do best is a home with children over the age of seven due to the fact he is very flighty and would have no problem sneaking out of an open door or running off if his leash gets loose. He would be impossible to catch as he is so lean and FAST. A fenced in yard where he can't fit through the rungs would be the perfect place for this little guy to burn some energy and not be in danger of getting loose. At night his favorite things to do are cuddle up with you under the blankets to stay nice and warm or curl up on his bed in front of the fireplace (usually with his toys). He will sleep in his crate but might put up a bit of a fuss as he does get cold. Kingston does not go potty in his crate unless it has been several hours and doesn't mind being in his crate for a short time. Kingston will be a great addition to any responsible home that understands the needs of an energetic min pin and has the patience and diligence to continue working with him on house training and obedience.

"Hi! My name is Wheeler. I am a fun, energetic guy who loves going for car rides and long walks after an exhausting day of sleep. I also love being lazy under the covers and boy am I a good cuddler! You see, I came from Dallas, TX so I am used to all that warm weather down there so it has been a huge change for me getting used to this cold weather way up north here in Wisconsin. Because of all this cold weather, my favorite place is under the blankets or on a lap where I am nice a warm. Since I am a puppy, I have to go outside quite often. I am definitely potty trained and will let you know when I need to go outside but please don't make me wait too long. I have had accidents in the past. I also love playing with toys! They sure keep me busy and burn a lot of my energy. I also do great with other dogs and would probably prefer to have a companion throughout the day to keep me company. I've spent my whole life with a friend and would probably be lost if I had to run solo. So that's about it! I hope you like me and consider making me a forever part of your home! I promise to make a great pet!"

Pepsi is a 10 year old spayed black & tan female with docked tail and cropped ears. Shots are up to date. Approx. 8 lb and unknown on height but she is pretty little for a min pin. She loves nothing more than to snuggle up with you on the couch and a warm blanket. Her only health issues are her teeth...she has had several pulled but with routine cleaning she should be fine in the future. She LOVES car rides. She does well off leash but can be a little bit of a wanderer but definitely not a runner! She is mostly potty trained but currently gets crated while we are gone and at night due to some minor potty issues...she seems to have most of her accidents at night if she is left to roam the house. She is not fantastic with children, you can tell she is uncomfortable around them but has never had an incident of biting or nipping. I would recommend her not going to a house with small children...older children would be fine. Overall Pepsi is a low maintenance sweet little girl that has some minor issues that can definitely be worked around. She may be 10 years old but you would never know it...she has the Min Pin attitude and a heart of gold!

Chipper: 7 yr old (DOB 1/24/2003) black & tan male, neutered, docked tail and cropped ears. 22", 26 lb. Shots up-to-date.
Chipper is a very handsome BIG Pin... it's hard to call him a "Min" Pin as he is a pretty stout guy. He was given up by his family because they were gone a lot and did not have time for him anymore.... sad. He needs someone who is home more as he has some anxiety being left alone for long hours. He will not do the best in apartment living either as he does bark and cry when left alone. He does not do well with cats either. He is a very sweet guy with a lot of love to give. He just needs someone with a big heart who will take him and and love him not just for a little bit, but forever. Update: He seems to be doing well getting used to be crated while his foster mom is away or during bedtime. He's VERY food motivated and will do pretty much anything for a treat.

Herbie: 3-4 yr old black & rust male, soon to be neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 15", 16 lb. Rescued from shelter.
Herbie loves to play fetch and knows some obedience commands. He also loves to cuddle on the couch. We are working on housebreaking but he is doing very well. He will be neutered soon and will be utd on his shots, etc.
